Too Busy to Organise? Do a 10 Minutes Closet Detox!

For this simple wardrobe declutter you'll need to set aside about 10 minutes as we'll be tackling only your hanging clothes at this stage.

Start by going to your closet and one by one evaluate each item of clothing hanging there. You don't really need to pull everything out and make a big mess, just take each clothing piece out one by one, on its hanger, and think honestly about it.

As you look at each item ask yourself the questions

"Do I love this?"

"Do I wear this?"

"If I happened to bump into an old boyfriend is this something I'd want to be wearing?"

If you answer no to any of the questions, take the items out and hang them away from the clothes that are keepers.

Gather up all the clothes that don’t make you feel amazing and ready to conquer the world.

You really don’t need to look at those clothes hanging in your wardrobe every day, thinking you should be wearing them, or you should be losing weight or thinking whatever else that wastes your time and brings you down.

Take them out of your closet and bag them up ready for donating.

If you can’t bear to part with them immediately, store the bag in the garage for a week or two… anything you don’t go looking for - you can donate to your favourite charity.

Someone less fortunate will benefit from your donations and you’ll get the good giving karma come back to you!

If 10 minutes wasn't enough time, keep going for another 10 minutes if you can. If you can't, place a marker where you got up to, and you can easily resume on another day when you have more time.

The benefit of not dragging your whole closet out and laying it on your bed or around your room is you can do this exercise in smaller time increments, without the pressure of making a big mess and having to finish the job all at once.

Getting organised is so much easier when you can break it down into smaller more manageable chunks.

If this all seems too hard and you'd like a hand to get started or you are just too busy and want to get the job done quickly, book a free call with me! I offer a variety of packages to suit different budgets and I'd love to help you be calm, be organised and be in control!
